Sailing School and Disability Sailing Programs

For information and registration for all sailing school programs please contact Sailing School Director Barry MacNeil: (902) 625-3475 or barry.macneil@ns.sympatico.ca.

SailingOur Junior Sailing Program
The junior program offers White Sail I, II and III; as well as Bronze Sail IV and V. Full day classes are held Monday through Friday throughout July and August.

Adult Sailing Programs are usually offered in the evenings and are designed to meet the individual needs of each student sailor. There is some flexibility for scheduling adult sailing during weekdays and weekends, depending on other school activities.

The Wallace MacAskill Disability Sailing Program
This innovative program has, since 2005, offered persons with disabilities the opportunity to experience the freedom of sailing on the Bras d'Or Lakes. Headquartered at the St. Peter's Lions Club Marina, the program features two Access 2.3 dinghies designed specifically for use by even the most severely disabled persons. We also have a race-ready 420, a Flying Junior, a CL 16 and a HobieCat 14 sailingin our fleet.

The Program is offered free of charge to persons with any form of disability from ages 7 and up. Programs will be designed to suit each individual's needs following consultation with our coordinator. Times will be scheduled to meet individual needs as far as it is possible.
