MacAskill Cup Regatta

This is a summer highlight for the local sailing community. The MacAskill Cup will be run for the 28th time this year. See this page for more info.

Boats for SALE

The club has two small sailboats from the former sailing school fleet that we would like to pass on to some person or family who'd like to have a great little starter or retirement vessel.

If you are interested in viewing either of these little beauties, please call Club Treasurer Glenda Sampson at (902) 535-3141or email gsampson@seaside.ns.ca

Flying Junior

Fibreglass hull, aluminum spars, complete with all standing and running rigging and tired, but useable sails. Needs some TLC. Trailer not available. $250 as is.

Hobie 14 Turbo

This is a fast little catamaran complete with all equipment including roller furling jib, and some spares. The sails are a bit tired on this one also. $500 as is. Pictured above, sistership. Ours is blue.

Boats for SAIL

For the time being, the club owns and maintains two very different sailing dinghies for use by members.

Access Dinghy

This is a bullet-proof, double-walled, roto-molded plastic hull with a simple catboat rig. Designed for beginner sailors with physical handicaps, it features two forward facing seats and a joy-stick tiller control. It is a great little boat to put very young sailors in to build their self confidence. The boat is available for members' and their families' use.

420 Racing Dinghy

This popular racing class dinghy is very exciting to sail - it is fast and delicate. The boat is in exceptionally good condition, with good sails, and lots of strings to pull - and a handy launch dolley. Club members are welcome to use this boat for fun, practice, and in the Wednesday night races.
