Wednesday Night Racing 2018

Club members welcome visiting sailors (and would be sailors) to join us on our boats, or on your own vessels, for our classic Wednesday night run around the buoys.

Racing season runs from Jun 27 through September 26. Prize for the series winner is a $100 gift certificate from the Bras d'Or Lakes Inn and can be redeemed for fine dining in their Britanny Room. Whimsical prizes may be offered for deserving sailors after each individual race.

We use the PHRF handicap system. All those intending to race should get their rating from the Nova Scotia Sailing Association (a free service). Visit: http://www.sailnovascotia.ca/phrf-ns-ratings-of-yachts.html

At the top of that page you will see a button to 'Add Yacht' - this provides you with an on-line form to have your boat listed with NSSA and rated for PHRF.

Skippers' Meetings and Start Times:

Skippers' meetings will be held at Lions Marina beginning at 4:15 pm, for a 5 pm start.

Visitors who would like to sail with a racer should hook up here before the skippers' meeting or call Gordon Kerr at (902) 631-3754.

The course is set on club markers in Jackson Bay and each race course is based on present wind conditions.

Generally speaking, you can expect some socializing ashore after the races.
